Former Model and Christian Author Encourages Young Believers to be Passionate for God - 2 Dec 2003

...A former international model who is also a Christian encourages young believers to be passionate for God, and to step out in faith to make a difference for Christ. In her new book Ignite the Fire, 24-year-old Natalie Moe challenges teenagers to be warriors for Christ with a message of God's love. She says it is important for Christian teens to set a good example for the culture. "[In my book] I want to encourage youth to put on their 'purity glasses' and [ask God] how He would want us to look, what kind of movies He would want us to see, and [how] to live our lives as if He was right there next to us," Moe says. Christians teenagers, she says, must be rooted in God's Holy Word to face and overcome tempting situations. Moe says her faith in Christ kept her from making many of the mistakes that are common among women in the modeling industry. "There were challenges, there were choices I had to make every single time -- every photo shoot and every runway show I had to decide [if I was] going to wear these types of clothes or [ask myself] 'What are my standards?' For me, I just really had to continue to stay close [to God], reading in the Word and keeping people close to me who would hold me accountable." Moe works with two ministries: Youth With a Mission, and Models for Christ. |
