...The man who formerly headed up a judicial nominee watchdog group says Democratic critics of President Bush's choices for the bench do not hesitate to lie in the effort to defeat the nominees. According to John Nowacki, who is now with the Department of Justice, attacks on Bush's Christian pro-life judicial nominees are built on lie after lie, now that partisanship has trumped truth in the nomination process. "When you've got these attackers who are so willing to depart from the truth, it doesn't really matter how much you demonstrate that a nominee is of good character or well qualified or fair and committed to following the law. It's not going to matter to these liberal groups and these Senate Democrats," Nowacki says. Recently discovered memos detail the lengths to which the Democrats will go to ensure they can keep the federal judiciary liberal. |
