Fighting Men and Women Deserve to Be Honored This Veterans Day - 11 Nov 2003

...Retired Brigadier General Thaddeus Malanowski, who spent 28 years as a military chaplain, says the fighting men and women he's seen deserve to be honored on this Veterans Day. He points out these soldiers have always been well aware of the danger and peril they faced. "But they also knew that there was no greater love than to lay down their lives for another for a just and peaceful cause and for the preservation of peace in the world," the former chaplain says. "As we observer Veterans Day, let us not forget to pause a moment in thought and in prayer for all of our veterans -- and our future veterans who are now serving overseas in dangerous areas." Malanowski believes Americans are free today because of those who have given or been willing to give their most precious right -- the right to life -- in order to preserve the nation and its freedoms.
