Daycare System Destroying Traditional Family Values - 11 Nov 2003

...A spokesman for the Washington-based Family Research Council has offered his assessment of the daycare industry and where it is taking the nation. Dr. Allan Carlson says today's daycare industry grew up out of the socialist movement dating back to Plato's writings. The concept claims the state -- not the family -- is the best parent for children. This idea has progressed from the Communist movement to today's "it takes a village" philosophy championed by New York Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. Carlson says in order for that to happen, the traditional family and its values must be rejected by society. "Ambitious human minds have dreamed over the millennia of a parental surrender of the task of child care in favor of social parenting," he says. Carlson made his comments recently in Washington at a seminar focusing on daycare and what it is doing to America's children. One of the other speakers at the event, Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, is putting forward a fill to provide tax relief for stay-at-home moms. |
